There was a time when Dustin May was considered to be a future star with the Los Angeles Dodgers. He displayed promise with LA from 2019-2025, but injuries impacted his career along the way. He's since pitched for the Boston Red Sox, St. Louis Cardinals and now the Milwaukee Brewers. May joined the Brewers earlier this season and is now set to pitch in the World Series with Milwaukee. Prior to this year, May hadn't pitched in the postseason since LA's 2020 World Series run.

He got brutally honest on his journey during an interview on Thursday, via Foul Territory.

“Very blessed to be here,” May said. “I thank the Lord everyday for just giving me the opportunity to be here. Looking back over the last two years, I mean, two years ago I wasn't sure if I was ever going to play again. So being able to be here, be on this stage again, with this team, in this moment, I'm very lucky and blessed.”

May was acquired by the Brewers from the Cardinals before the trade deadline this season. He did not pitch especially well with Milwaukee, turning in a 5.65 ERA across 10 starts. He's made three appearances (one start) so far in the postseason, pitching to a 6.43 ERA.

His numbers are not ideal, but May is a veteran pitcher who can make an impact either in a starting or bullpen role. It would not be surprising to see him end up having a crucial multi-inning relief appearance in the Fall Classic at some point.
