The Jacksonville Jaguars defeated the Baltimore Ravens 33-10 on Thursday night, extending the Ravens’ losing streak to four games. The Ravens were without quarterback Lamar Jackson, who had injured his right throwing thumb in a collision against the Buffalo Bills.
Jackson was making a return from a Grade 1 high ankle sprain that he suffered in Week 4 against the Tennessee Titans, and may now be out for the season. Asked about his status, head coach Jesse Minter refused to comment, per a post on X by Luke Jones.
“I’m not going to speak on that,” he said.
The loss dropped the Ravens to 4-5, while Jacksonville improved to 6-2 with its fifth victory in six games. Jackson suffered the thumb injury on his first offensive snap against the Bills when he collided with rusher Greg Rousseau while attempting a pass to Zay Flowers.
The Ravens lost that game 36-10, and Minter had previously confirmed that Jackson would undergo surgery and be placed on injured reserve. Jackson had completed 70.8% of his passes for 967 yards, six touchdowns and one interception across his first four appearances, while adding 144 rushing yards and another touchdown.
His absence has exposed Baltimore's lack of depth at quarterback, particularly after Tyler Huntley also suffered a toe injury. Regardless, Trevor Lawrence completed 16 of 26 passes for 242 yards and a touchdown.
Jakobi Meyers recorded four receptions for 65 yards, Parker Washington had two catches for 61 yards and a 50-yard touchdown, while Nate Boerkircher added two receptions for 61 yards. For the Ravens, Joe Fagnano completed 10 of 18 passes for just 60 yards, zero touchdowns and two interceptions.
Baltimore will now the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 10, while Jacksonville will travel to take on the Tennessee Titans next.
