Coach Jesse Minter's Baltimore Ravens are 4-2 after a Week 6 loss at Cleveland that included a harsh criticism of kicker Tyler Loop. Minter dropped a one-word Lamar Jackson injury update before the Ravens announced a new kicker was added to their practice squad.

Jordan Schultz shared the news that the Ravens added Jake Moody was added back to the Ravens' practice squad. Moody was Michigan's kicker during the 2023-24 national championship season when Minter served as Jim Harbaugh's defensive coordinator. Now he will kick with the Ravens in hopes of getting a crack at a 53-man roster spot.

“Sources: The Ravens are signing K Jake Moody to their practice squad, bringing him back as competition,” Schultz wrote. “Moody was with the team earlier this season when Tyler Loop had struggled in camp.”

Moody made 10 of 11 field goals with the Washington Commanders in 2026, including a long of 56 yards. He started with the San Francisco 49ers in 2023 and has played with three teams so far during regular season action.

The Ravens find themselves in a three-way tie atop the AFC South heading into Week 7, alongside the Cleveland Browns and Pittsburgh Steelers. They've done it without Jackson in recent weeks, but Adam Schefter thinks the Ravens superstar will return for the team's game vs. Joe Burrow and the 3-2 Bengals on October 25.

Moody has a strong leg and plenty of upside as a kicker. He's been mostly successful during his NFL tenure, something likely not lost on the Ravens' starter Loop amid Minter's demand that he kick better going forward.
