The Los Angeles Rams have rolled without Myles Garrett for six straight games. Los Angeles received some good news about Garrett's possible return on Oct. 23. But head coach Sean McVay threw cold water on a possible week eight return Wednesday.

McVay revealed that Garrett will not be practicing this week amid his bad knee. This becomes a reverse from the past optimism McVay had for Garrett's health.

“After Sean McVay expressed optimism that Myles Garrett would practice this week, it’s another week of no practice. The wait continues,” NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport posted on the social media website X, formerly Twitter.

So that means Garrett is on pace to miss his seventh consecutive game. He's only suited up for the Rams' season opener against the San Francisco 49ers down in Melbourne, Australia. And the Rams took a rough 27-7 opening loss in the Land Down Under.

Garrett arrived as a blockbuster June 1 trade from the Cleveland Browns. LA and general manager Les Snead helped send rising star edge rusher Jared Verse to Cleveland as part of the massive deal. Garrett's arrival handed the Rams the reigning 2025 NFL Defensive Player of the Year winner. Plus also sparked the return of three-time NFL DPOY for the Rams Aaron Donald, with the intent to form a collaboration with Garrett.

However, both stars are yet to play in a single NFL regular season game together, with Garrett nursing his knee ailment. Los Angeles managed to grab a 35-21 romp of the Las Vegas Raiders Sunday without Garrett. But LA remains below .500 at 3-4 overall heading into its city showdown with the Chargers set for Sunday.
