The Los Angeles Rams got a mixed bag of injury updates leading up to Week 4 against the Eagles including a positive one on Puka Nacua. Other star players have also been affected by injury including Eagles star DeVonta Smith and Rams star defensive tackle Aaron Donald.

NFL insider Ari Meirov shared the latest intel on Donald and it's bad news for Rams fans.

“Rams DT Aaron Donald has a back injury and is OUT on Sunday vs. the Eagles,” Meirov wrote.

Donald has scratched his competitive itch in many ways this season including as a leader in the locker room. Donald became angry after his team's loss to the Broncos in Week 3 and after hearing coach Sean McVay's subsequent message to the team. Donald has been a factor on the Rams' d-line so far but hasn't been the overwhelming force he has been in past seasons.

Losing Donald ahead of such a big game against Nick Sirianni's Eagles will hurt, but could be a blessing in disguise for the long run if Donald is able to rest and get back to his usual dominant self. The Eagles have big games against the Jaguars, Panthers and Cowboys in the coming weeks, emphasizing the importance of the health of their star players.

The Rams are 1-2 and staring down a monumental challenge in Week 4 at Philadelphia. McVay is hoping for a big secondary return that could ease the sting of losing Donald. In the meantime, the Rams will go to battle with Matthew Stafford and Puka Nacua in charge of an offense that could be in line for a big game in the City of Brotherly Love, one that could be sorely needed.
