With just days left for this year's WWE Money in the Bank ladder match, a top Superstar has emerged as a heavy favorite to win this year's men's edition. A new report from WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select recently noted that Penta has been considered backstage in WWE to win the briefcase.

Je’Von Evans, Trick Williams, Bron Breakker, and Penta will go against two more unnamed participants for a chance to win this year’s Money in the Bank. Finn Bálor, CM Punk, and Gunther will collide on tonight's Friday Night SmackDown to determine the fifth spot.

WrestleVotes on Fightful Select recently reported that several people within WWE creative view Penta as the ‘heavy favorite’ to win this year’s Money in the Bank match. The report mentioned that while Penta was not viewed as a potential winner for this year's match, things changed after his Mexico City match. A few days ago, Penta faced off against Roman Reigns in Mexico City during an episode of Monday Night RAW. The reaction Penta's match received possibly changed things backstage, including discussions of having a rematch between the two.

WrestleVotes on Fightful Select previously reported that while a rematch between the two was possible, nothing immediate was planned by WWE. The report also discussed that following his match against Roman Reigns, Penta's position grew in the promotion. Many backstage in WWE believe he deserves the opportunity to remain at the top of the card as well as establish himself as a main-eventer. Penta is also a former WWE Intercontinental Champion.
