The Detroit Pistons and Jalen Duren remain at odds. Duren rejected a five-year, $200 million offer, thus leaving his future in the Motor City in real limbo.

Meanwhile, the Pistons remain adamant about closing a deal. However, Duren wasn't happy about a weight clause being included, per Sam Amick and Hunter Patterson of The Athletic.

This specific clause wasn't even officially put into writing.

“Yet still, with the Eastern Conference contender showing renewed interest in getting a deal done and the 22-year-old, All-NBA center pushing for a bigger payday, the gap between the sides remains,” Amick and Patterson wrote. “Per league sources, the Pistons upped their offer by $10 million in recent days – from the five-year, $190 million proposal that was put forth in August to a five-year, $200 million deal that has no team or player options and is fully guaranteed. Those sources, like others in this story, spoke on the condition of anonymity. They also confirm Detroit added a weight clause in its offer, though the league sources say that part was not in writing.”

Duren and his team have been unhappy with lower offers all along. Additionally, the Sacramento Kings and Milwaukee Bucks are reportedly interested in Duren.

Last year, Duren averaged 19.5 points and 10.5 rebounds per game in 70 appearances. Along the way, the Pistons finished with the best record in the Eastern Conference at 60-22. Ultimately, they fell to the Cleveland Cavaliers in seven games in the second round.

The Pistons are set to begin NBA training camp within the next week.
