New Orleans Pelicans star Trey Murphy III is dealing with an injury at the moment. He is listed on the injury report for Friday night's game against the Minnesota Timberwolves as probable with bilateral patella tendinopathy. Barring unforeseen circumstances, it seems as if Murphy should have a good chance of playing.

Murphy, 26, is averaging 14.9 points, 4.6 rebounds and 3.4 assists per outing so far in the 2026-27 NBA season. The forward is also shooting 45.5 percent from the field and 38.5 percent from beyond the arc. He's certainly made a big impact through his seven games played up to this point.

Julian Reese (G League two-way) is also probable to play. Jaron Pierre Jr. (G League two-way) and Malik Dia (G league two-way) are both doubtful for the game. Yves Missi (left knee contusion/bone bruise) is out.

For the Timberwolves, Terrence Shannon Jr. (left hip contusion) is questionable to play. Anthony Edwards (right knee arthroscopy) and Donte DiVincenzo (right Achilles tendon repair/surgery) both remain out for the game.

New Orleans has been inconsistent so far this season. The Pelicans are 4-4 overall following their 120-113 win over the Utah Jazz on Wednesday night.

The Timberwolves most recently earned a 117-107 victory over the Houston Rockets on the road. Minnesota is looking to perform well despite Edwards' injury absence. They are 6-3 overall.
