The New England Patriots will be facing the Buffalo Bills in Week 4 in a big divisional matchup, but there are a few injuries to watch out for. One of them is on defense, as Christian Gonzalez is dealing with a shoulder injury and wasn't at practice, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

“Patriots CB Christian Gonzalez did not practice today due to a shoulder injury,” Schefter wrote on X, formerly Twitter.

It's uncertain when Gonzalez suffered the injury last week, but the hope is that it's nothing serious. On offense, Drake Maye was listed on the injury report with a shoulder injury as well, but he was a full participant in practice, which is good news for his status heading into their game against the Bills.

The Patriots are already dealing with some injuries on offense, and Maye going down won't make things better. The quarterback has gotten off to a slow start this season, but there should be optimism that he turns things around soon. It was a bad Week 3 for him against the Jacksonville Jaguars, as he finished with two interceptions and a fumble.

“It's Week 3, and at the same time we have to have some fuel and realize that what we're doing out there offensively it's unacceptable. It's been unacceptable for three weeks. I have to start with myself, lead these guys, and get back after it,” Maye said after the game.

As for Gonzalez, he's one of their leaders on defense as well as their top cornerback. They're going to want him on the field, and it'll be interesting to see if he can practice these next two days. If not, there should be some doubt about his playing status when Sunday comes around.
