If New England Patriots star defensive back Christian Gonzalez is looking for a challenge, he'll have his hands full this coming Sunday, when Jordan Love and the Green Bay Packers show up at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough for Week 9's edition of Sunday Night Football.

The 24-year-old Gonzalez and the Pats' secondary will play a key area in this matchup, as Green Bay is a pass-heavy squad with a talented quarterback in Love and dangerous weapons downfield, particularly the pair of wide receivers Christian Watson and Matthew Golden.

Gonzalez addressed the challenge of trying to contain the Packers' wideouts while speaking to reporters on Thursday.

“I got a lot of respect for both of them,” the former Oregon Ducks star said (h/t Carlos A. Lopez). “I mean, they can both take the top off. They can both run good routes. Jordan Love does a great job getting the ball to them in space. They can make people miss, they can run a lot of routes. They move them around a lot and get the ball in their hands. So, it’s a fun challenge, and we’re excited for it.”

Gonzalez, the Patriots' first-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, is widely regarded as one of the best cornerbacks in the league, while Watson and Golden are prolific downfield targets for Love, so the Patriots star's matchups with either Green Bay wide receiver are worth watching, to say the least.

Gonzalez is also still looking for his first interception of the season, but he already has five passes defended to go with 21 combined tackles through six games played.

As a team, the Patriots are allowing 217.3 passing yards per game, 13th overall in the league.
