The Green Bay Packers have the serious business of trying to chase down their three NFC North rivals. It may be the toughest job in the NFL.
The Packers are playing quite well as they have won four of their last five games and own a 5-3 record. However, in the brutal NFC North, that has left them in fourth place in the division. The Packers have a pair of tough games coming up as they face the New England Patriots in Week 9 before hosting the Vikings in Week 10.
The Packers have been hit hard by penalty calls in recent weeks, and quarterback Jordan Love and his wife dressed up as blind NFL referees for the recently concluded Halloween celebration. The Halloween costumes were designed as a joke, but NFL officials don't take kindly to criticism of its officials by players or coaches. If the NFL looks at this as tongue-in-cheek criticism, there could be a rebuke or a fine.
Love sent the video of the costumes to Packers head coach Matt LaFleur, and the head coach thought the quarterback's take was quite funny but didn't go much further. “He did send me the clip and I thought it was pretty hilarious,” LaFleur said, per Matt Schneidman of The Athletic. “But I should probably refrain from commenting on that.”
Love is regularly viewed as one of the most talented quarterbacks in the NFL because of his ability to throw deep passes to his receivers. Love has completed 192 of 312 passes for a league-high 2,246 yards. He has a 16-6 TD-interception ratio.
