Oregon wide receiver Jeremiah McClellan didn't suit up in Friday night's 84-0 win over Portland State, putting his status for the Ducks' upcoming Big Ten matchup with No. 12 USC under the spotlight.

McClellan went through pregame warmups in full pads but did not take the field against the Vikings. Instead, the redshirt sophomore was seen on the sideline in street clothes with a walking boot on his left foot and using crutches. Oregon players were also seen checking on him during the first quarter.

Head coach Dan Lanning provided an update after the game, saying:

“Got tweaked in pregame, have to get an evaluation to see what exactly that looks like. I don't know right at this moment.”

Lanning did not provide a timetable for McClellan's return or further details about the injury.

The timing certainly raises a few eyebrows for the Ducks. McClellan entered Week 3 as Oregon's leading receiver, logging seven catches for 170 yards and one touchdown through the first two games. He was also one of the Ducks most productive offensive players in 2025, finishing third on the team with 38 receptions for 557 yards and three touchdowns.

Oregon managed to operate effectively without him against Portland State. The Ducks scored 28 points in the opening 15 minutes, with Dante Moore throwing touchdown passes to Dakorien Moore and Evan Stewart. Kendre Harrison then caught his first career touchdown early in the second quarter as Oregon extended its advantage to 35-0.

Stewart had 61 receiving yards on two catches through the first quarter, while Dakorien Moore recorded a 45-yard touchdown reception. Freshman Messiah Hampton added two catches for 23 yards, and Harrison finished that stretch with two receptions for 34 yards. Freshman Gatlin Bair also received first-quarter snaps.

Oregon is scheduled to visit the Trojans on Saturday, Sept. 26. Tight end Jamari Johnson also missed the Vikings game after sitting out against Oklahoma State, leaving Oregon with additional uncertainty among its pass catchers.

The Ducks' first official injury report of the season is scheduled for Wednesday ahead of the USC game, when Oregon will have to provide updates under the Big Ten's new 2026 injury-report policy.
