The Los Angeles Chargers (0-7) have reportedly shut down trade inquiries involving several key players, including 35-year-old star pass rusher Khalil Mack, despite remaining the NFL's only winless team ahead of Tuesday's trade deadline.

According to a collaborative report from ESPN's Adam Schefter and Ian Rapoport on Saturday, the Chargers have made it clear that Mack will not be available, even as opposing teams continue exploring potential deals.

“Despite their 0-7 record, the Los Angeles Chargers continue to tell teams that they have no interest in trading away Khalil Mack, and the veteran pass rusher will not be going anywhere before Tuesday's deadline, according to sources.”

Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh also expressed his desire to keep the veteran defensive star in Los Angeles.

“I want Khalil Mack here,” Harbaugh told reporters. “Khalil Mack wants to be here.”

The Chargers reportedly view Mack as an important part of their organization because of his leadership and on-field production. Despite their disastrous start, Los Angeles has shown little interest in parting ways with established players to acquire future assets.

Chargers remain unwilling to trade key players despite 0-7 start

The organization's unwillingness to entertain trade offers extends beyond Mack, with quarterback Justin Herbert and wide receiver Ladd McConkey also drawing interest from opposing teams.

“The Chargers also don't like the message of giving up on the season. Calls from rival general managers on Justin Herbert, Ladd McConkey and others have received hard nos,” Schefter and Rapoport reported.

Los Angeles is coming off a 24-9 loss to the Los Angeles Rams in Week 8, extending its losing streak to seven games.

The Chargers entered the 2026 season hoping to build on their 11-6 campaign last year, which ended with a wild-card playoff loss to the New England Patriots. However, the team has struggled to find success despite adding former Miami Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel as offensive coordinator.

With the trade deadline approaching, Los Angeles appears committed to maintaining its core rather than embracing a roster overhaul.

The Chargers will attempt to secure their first victory of the season against the Houston Texans (2-5) on Sunday at 1:05 p.m. PT on CBS.
