No. 13 Oregon will be without quarterback Dante Moore when it faces No. 21 UCLA on Saturday, with former Nebraska signal-caller Dylan Raiola expected to make his first start for the Ducks.
Moore was officially listed as out on Oregon's initial injury report Wednesday night after suffering a concussion in the team's 41-27 win over USC on Sept. 26. He was injured during the first half when his head struck the turf following a helmet-to-helmet hit while he was sliding. Trojans linebacker Desman Stephens II was ejected for targeting on the play and later suspended for the Trojans Week 5 game against Washington.
Moore had to be stretchered off the field following the collision. Although he returned to practice on Monday and was seen wearing shoulder pads and a helmet, Ducks head coach Dan Lanning said that the team was taking a cautious approach with his recovery.
The NCAA concussion protocol consists of five stages, beginning with symptom-limited activity and progressing through moderate aerobic exercise, non-contact drills, full-contact practice and, finally, a return to competition after medical clearance.
Raiola stepped in after Moore's injury and completed 19 of 25 passes for 289 yards and two touchdowns. The former five-star recruit transferred to Oregon after spending two seasons with the Huskies.
Raiola has thrown for 413 yards on 36 pass attempts this season. He also brings 24 games of experience from his time at Nebraska, along with 5,232 career passing yards and 36 touchdowns.

He entered the season as one of the leading 2027 NFL Draft prospects and had been viewed as a potential top-two selection before choosing to return to Eugene. Raiola's decision to transfer to the Ducks followed Moore's decision to remain in college.
Oregon and UCLA will meet Saturday at 3:30 p.m. ET on CBS.
