The Denver Broncos are off to a bit of a shaky 2-2 start this season after making it all the way to the AFC Championship Game. The Denver defense has been sloppy, but Vance Joseph and company are starting to find their groove this season and played a strong game on Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers.

But the offense has been the major talking point in Denver so far this year. Save for a strong second half in Week 3 against the Los Angeles Rams, Davis Webb's play-calling and Bo Nix's quarterbacking have both faced heavy criticism from fans.

Nix also isn't using his legs as much this season, which is something that some Broncos fans desperately want to see him bring back. On Wednesday, he explained that the way he is seeing the field is impacting his limited number of scrambles this season, via Zac Stevens of DNVR Sports.

Bo Nix said the reason he’s not running as much is because he’s seeing the field better.

“I think cause I'm seeing the field better and I know where my outlets are and I'm getting to them faster,” Nix said. “I think that's just a product of being in the system for three years.”

However, the film doesn't exactly support what Nix is saying. He had a brutal day at the office against the 49ers, and has been pretty conservative as a passer overall so far this season. In Week 4, he completed just two passes that were more than 10 yards downfield despite having a number of chances to push the ball deep over the middle on tape. That has been a theme so far this season, and it's something that Nix has faced heavy criticism for coming out of that loss to the 49ers.

Still, there is plenty of time for Nix and this Broncos offense to turn things around this season and get back into that top tier of AFC contenders. Their next chance to do just that will come on Sunday in Week 5 against the 0-4 Los Angeles Chargers, who will be desperate to get a win and turn their season around.
