Coach Pete Golding's Ole Miss Rebels ran out of gas in a 42-7 blowout loss to Kirby Smart's Georgia Bulldogs that was a huge Trinidad Chambliss letdown for one former NFL QB. Golding made a lifelong Ole Miss coaching declaration that had fans embracing him ahead of the game, but now the Rebels are officially in dangerous territory with Oklahoma next on the docket.
Golding addressed the Oklahoma game after the Georgia loss, warning his team ahead of Week 11's forthcoming game, in comments shared by Brad Logan of Champions Network.
“(Players) come here to compete for a National Championship. We worry too much about things we can't control. It starts with me. It starts with Oklahoma. We have to get some things fixed.”
The Rebels appeared tired after a long series of high profile games. Chambliss didn't live up to the considerable hype surrounding him as he failed to pass for over 200 yards and he was intercepted once by Smart's defense. Horatio Fields had eight catches for 96 yards to pace the passing game while Ole Miss was outrushed by a final tally of 295 yards to 66.
