The Oklahoma Sooners are 4-4 on the season after suffering a 42-25 Week 9 loss to the No. 23 South Carolina Gamecocks. Outside of the 27-24 Week 6 win over the Texas Longhorns, it's been a disastrous season for the Sooners. Especially on offense, as the team has struggled to move the ball down the field. As a result, head coach Brent Venables decided to fire offensive coordinator Ben Arbuckle.
It's said that Arbuckle is expected to be fired as of Monday, according to Matt Zenitz of CBS Sports. Zenitz initially reported that the 31-year-old play caller was expected to part ways. However, since that report, it's been confirmed that Oklahoma will be searching for a new offensive coordinator.
“Oklahoma and offensive coordinator Ben Arbuckle are expected to part ways, sources tell CBS Sports,” Zenitz reported.
