The Ohio State Buckeyes lost their second game of a college football season for the first time since 2011 as they fell 30-18 to Lincoln Riley's USC Trojans in Los Angeles. Buckeyes coach Ryan Day became upset enough to make Tom Izzo jealous as he lamented the mistakes made by his team in the Coliseum.
With the score 27-12 and the game seemingly out of reach, the Buckeyes gave their standout wide receiver Jeremiah Smith a chance to set another record, and to help propel them back into the game. Smith set the Big Ten record for most receiving touchdowns in a career, surpassing former Michigan star Braylon Edwards.
