Christian Yelich and some other members of the World Series-winning Milwaukee Brewers made a surprise appearance on Saturday Night Live. He was joined by manager Pat Murphy and Brice Turang, who was holding the World Series trophy, during a segment on Weekend Update.
During the segment, SNL cast member Bobby Moynihan's “Drunk Uncle” character turned to Yelich behind him and let out a zinger of a joke at the expense of the Brewers captain, to the delight of the live audience.
“Hey, I know you. You’re Pete Davidson, right?” Moynihan quipped.
Davidson is a former SNL cast member whose face does have some resemblance to Yelich.
The Brewers' official X account also shared some behind-the-scenes photos of Yelich and co. at the SNL studio with Moynihan, as well as Weekend Update hosts Michael Che and Colin Jost.

It's just one of the perks of being a champion in a major sports league these days that you also get the chance to be on the popular sketch comedy show. New York Knicks captain Jalen Brunson had the honor to host an episode of SNL last month. Still, it was a bit of a surprise for the Brewers to make an appearance.
No offense to Yelich, but he doesn't have quite the status to be hosting an entire episode like Brunson, who was the star of the biggest team in the city the show is located in. But at least he did make an appearance and played a part in quite an amusing joke.
