As the preseason and training camp start to wind down and the start of the regular season draws closer, NBA teams will start trimming down their rosters to get to the league maximum of 15 players. The Denver Nuggets made one of their roster cuts this week with the waiving of veteran wing Lonnie Walker IV, as per Brett Siegel of ClutchPoints.
Lonnie Walker had joined the Nuggets for training camp after spending last season out of the NBA. He played for Maccabi Tel Aviv in Israel last season, and his contract had an NBA out which he exercised this summer to join the Nuggets. What’s next for Walker is unknown at this time.
The No. 18 overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft, Walker was spent the first four seasons of his career with the San Antonio Spurs. He became a valuable contributor off the bench, and averaged double figures in scoring his last two seasons with the organization.
