On Sunday morning, the Oklahoma City Thunder opted to shake things up by swinging a trade for Sacramento Kings wing Nique Clifford. In exchange, the Thunder gave up two second-round picks to Sacramento, which has gotten off to the worst start in the league this season.

Let's take a look at how both teams fared in the deal.

Thunder trade grade: A

This trade for the Thunder was a clear response to their recent onslaught of injuries, which has included Jalen Williams, Cason Wallace, and Chet Holmgren all being out for big chunks of time.

Clifford might not be a true needle-mover, but he does give the Thunder another versatile wing who can stretch the floor and switch on defense. The Thunder ironically were the ones who technically drafted Clifford last year before trading his rights to Sacramento, and now he is reunited with the franchise.

Meanwhile, the Thunder have found their rhythm again after a brief rough patch in the immediate aftermath of the injuries, picking up two straight blowout wins over the weekend.

Clifford should only help them continue that trend moving forward.

Kings trade grade: C

This trade is a puzzling one for the Kings, to say the least. While two second-round picks could theoretically become something useful, it's unclear why the Kings didn't see more of a future between themselves and Clifford, especially after swinging a trade to get him during draft night last year.

Clifford seemingly could have fit the timeline of a rebuilding Sacramento team and given the Kings some much-needed versatility and size next to Darius Acuff Jr., but instead, he is now out the door.

It's hard to imagine what exactly the rationale was on this trade for Sacramento.
