Recently, the Philadelphia Eagles received some tough news when it was revealed that starting offensive lineman Landon Dickerson would be heading to the IR with a bone bruise. Dickerson attempted to play through the injury in Sunday's Week 1 win over the Washington Commanders, but now, the star will miss at least four games due to the ailment.

Now, Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni has revealed why Philadelphia opted to let Dickerson give it a go on Sunday despite knowing he was dealing with the issue.

“Nick Sirianni said Landon Dickerson wasn’t on the injury report because the injury wasn’t determined until after the game with imaging,” reported Zach Berman of The Athletic on X, formerly Twitter.

Clearly, it seems that had Philadelphia known the full extent of the injury, they wouldn't have allowed Dickerson to take the field on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Dave Zangaro of NBC Sports Philadelphia reported on X that “Nick Sirianni said the Eagles were comfortable with Landon Dickerson playing in Week 1 because they have seen him play through things before.”

Dickerson has been a stalwart of the Eagles' offensive line for several years, and now the team will have to soldier on without him for at least the next month as he recovers from the injury.

The Eagles' offense didn't necessarily blow away expectations on Sunday vs Washington, but they did look to have a bit more rhythm than they did during their disastrous 2025 season under former offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo.

Philadelphia will next hit the field on Sunday vs the Tennessee Titans on the road.
