Eagles coach Nick Sirianni took the blame after Sunday night’s loss to the Commanders.

The Eagles, who started the season 2-0 and had Super Bowl aspirations, lost their sixth consecutive game to fall to 2-6. Sirianni said the head coach deserves the blame when that happens.

“I take everything as my responsibility that happens out on that field. Everything. Obviously I am not doing a good enough job right now. I’ve got to do better,” Sirianni said.

Asked if offensive coordinator Sean Mannion will remain the play caller, Sirianni didn’t answer directly.

“I’m not thinking about any of that stuff right now,” Sirianni said.

But Sirianni did say the ultimate responsibility for turning the Eagles around is his, not any assistant coach’s.

“That falls on me,” Sirianni said. “With all the detail that’s not happening right now, I’ve got to try a different approach. That 100 percent is on me with how many of those issues are happening right now. I’ll do everything I can to do different things to get that point across.”

Sirianni said the Eagles are determined to turn their season around.

“I’m pissed at myself,” Sirianni said. “I know I’ll fight like hell to do everything I can do to get this fixed.”
