Aaron Glenn made it clear that Breece Hall remains an important part of the New York Jets' plans despite Braelon Allen's big performance against the Las Vegas Raiders.
Allen rushed for a career-high 147 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 38-33 loss. Hall missed his fifth straight game with a quad injury, but Glenn said the team is not considering moving on from the veteran running back.
“He’s an important part of what we’re doing, what we’re building,” Glenn said.
The Jets coach also explained that Hall was close to returning but the team did not want to risk another injury setback.
“Obviously Braelon did a hell of a job. I think he had close to 150 yards, and I think that speaks for itself. Breece is close, he’s close, but again we want to make sure that we’re handling that situation the right way,” Glenn said.
Allen has made the most of his opportunity. He has recorded at least 78 rushing yards in each of his last four games, including two performances with more than 100 yards and a touchdown.

Despite Allen's production, the Jets have no plans to trade Hall, according to SNY. The team believes both running backs can form a strong combination once Hall returns.
Hall signed a $43.5 million extension with New York and remains part of its long-term plans. The Jets are also focused on getting him fully healthy rather than rushing his return. New York is 2-6 after losing to Las Vegas and faces the Kansas City Chiefs next.
