The Chicago Bears have a massive test in front of them on Monday night against the defensing Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks, but they didn't wait until the weekend to make one of the biggest moves of the season.
Heading into Week 8, the Bears sent two first-round picks to the Tennessee Titans for All-Pro defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons. Simmons addresses the Bears' biggest need in the middle of their defense, but Chicago might still be chasing more deals in the coming days.
On Sunday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network floated the idea of Chicago making a deal with the Los Angeles Chargers to reunite with standout edge rusher Khalil Mack.

“The Bears may not actually be done,” Rapoport said. “I am told they're still calling around, still looking on the edges of their defense. Wouldn't be surprised if a Khalil Mack trade as in the offing here, a possible reunion for Mack and the Bears.”
The Bears have struggled all across the defensive line at points over the last few seasons, and Simmons addresses the issues on the interior. Mack, while not what he once was back in his prime, is still a great edge-setter and has some juice getting after the quarterback.
Article Continues BelowOf course, this deal would bring one of the best defenders in Bears history back to Chicago. Mack played four years with the Bears, making three Pro Bowls and two All-Pro teams during his time there. In those four seasons, Mack had 36 sacks and 35 tackles for loss and was one of the best players in football.
Recently, it was reported that the Chargers are unlikely to trade Mack despite him being on an expiring contract and the Chargers being the only winless team remaining in the NFL. That could be leverage to get a better draft pick in a potential trade before the deadline, but it remains to be seen whether he will actually be dealt.
The trade deadline will pass on Tuesday, Nov. 10 at 4 p.m. EST, so the Bears have until then to make another move if they plan to do so.
