Currently leading the AFC North at 5-2, it would be surprising for the Pittsburgh Steelers to trade away pieces from their current roster. Yet, as the NFL trade deadline approaches, there's a possibility that a couple of Steelers could be out the door. According to ESPN insider Jeremy Fowler, there's a 20 percent chance that the Steelers trade veteran linebacker Patrick Queen. Per Fowler's latest report, the Dallas Cowboys have once again checked in on Queen's availability.

“Rumors of a Queen trade persisted in the spring, with the Cowboys among the teams that checked on his availability,” stated Fowler. “He's also a 2027 free agent. But the Steelers' status as a 5-2 team likely keeps him in Pittsburgh.”

Both the Steelers and Cowboys are currently in the postseason picture. Pittsburgh is tied with the Cleveland Browns at the top of their division. Dallas is a game out of the final NFC Wild Card spot. While both rosters could use reinforcements, the Cowboys could certainly use an influx of talent on defense.

First year defensive coordinator Christian Parker has so far failed to turn around the Dallas defense. Before the season, the Cowboys struck another deal with the Steelers, trading for cornerback Joey Porter Jr. It's the third trade between the franchises over the past couple of years, as Pittsburgh sent wide receiver George Pickens and offensive tackle Broderick Jones recently. Would a deal for Queen become the fourth transaction between the two storied franchises? If so, then the NFL trade deadline will once again give the league its share of fireworks. As the playoff race heats up, both teams could use a shakeup in their continued pursuit of another Lombardi Trophy.
