The Minnesota Vikings are currently gearing up for their upcoming road game against the Detroit Lions, looking to push their record to a perfect 7-0 on the season. The Vikings' offense hasn't been anything to write home about in recent weeks, but the team is still finding ways to stack wins on the strength of their elite defensive unit.

Now, the team has gotten a key injury update on running back Aaron Jones ahead of this weekend's game against the Lions.

“”He's day to day. He's doing well. He feels strong. He feels like he's going to be able to progress and get to a good place on game day, but we have to have plans in place regardless,” said head coach Kevin O'Connell, per Kevin Seifert of ESPN on X, formerly Twitter.

Seifert had previously reported that Jones did not practice on Wednesday due to his ongoing knee issue. Jones left last week's win over the Indianapolis Colts after injuring his knee, something that had already given him problems, and causing fans to wonder whether or not he might be available against the Lions.

While the Vikings still haven't given official word on that front, O'Connell seemed relatively confident that Jones will be out there on game day.

Meanwhile, the Vikings are hoping for some better play out of quarterback Kyler Murray, who has been playing very pedestrian football since returning from a concussion, although Minnesota has still found ways to earn wins despite that, now sitting as the last remaining undefeated team in the NFL.

In any case, the Vikings are slated to kick off Sunday's game against the Lions at 1:00 pm ET from Detroit.
