Dave Doeren made history for all the wrong reasons following the NC State Wolfpack's upset loss to the Vanderbilt Commodores on Saturday afternoon.

Doeren has been the Wolfpack' head coach since 2013, starting his 14th season with the program. He has led them to many winning campaigns, achieving multiple bowl game victories throughout his tenure.

However, NC State is off to a brutal 1-2 start this season. What makes it worse is they suffered a fourth-quarter collapse against Vanderbilt. They led 24-14 before the Commodores fought back by outscoring them 24-7 in the last 15 minutes of regulation.

Going into the Week 3 matchups on Saturday, teams boasted a 1,046-1 record when possessing the ball and the lead within the last 10 seconds of a game. Doeren and NC State had the edge, but disaster struck them with Vanderbilt coming back. Therefore, Doeren and the Wolfpack became the second team in history to collapse in this fashion.
