Just like that, Dalton Knecht is already in his third year with the Los Angeles Lakers. Apparently, time flies even when you are glued to the bench.
But Knecht might find himself on a different team, as the Lakers continue to shop him around. According to ClutchPoints' Brett Siegel, the front office is eager to move Knecht and Jarred Vanderbilt.
“They're also exploring trades, consolation trades for their roster to kind of slim it down, involving Dalton Knecht. They are looking to trade Dalton Knecht. He will not be a part of this roster long-term,” said Siegel on “Clutch Scoops.”
According to The Stein Line's Jake Fischer, the Milwaukee Bucks have shown interest in the 25-year-old forward, although he noted that a trade is unlikely to happen.
“League sources say that the Lakers and Bucks have held exploratory trade discussions on a framework that would ship former first-round selection Dalton Knecht to Milwaukee (along with second-round draft capital) in exchange for big man Jericho Sims,” wrote Fischer.
“Yet it must be said that I've also heard some pessimism from sources briefed on those talks that such a trade will actually go through.”
He added that the Lakers “might be forced” to waive Knecht if they cannot pull off a trade to trim their roster.
The Bucks could use an extra scorer, and they are not exactly logjammed at Knecht's position, with Jaime Jaquez Jr., Ousmane Dieng, and Nate Ament as the only options. Knecht's adept shooting could also benefit Milwaukee.

Last season, Knecht averaged 4.2 points and 1.4 rebounds in 10.2 minutes in 54 games. Sims, meanwhile, tallied 5.0 points and 5.5 rebounds in 19.7 minutes in 67 games.
To recall, the Lakers shipped Knecht to the Charlotte Hornets for Mark Williams during his rookie year. It, however, was rescinded after Williams failed his physical exam with the Purple and Gold.
