Morgan State hung on to pull off one of the biggest wins of their season and one of the biggest victories in the Coach Damon Wilson era. Morgan State notched another big out-of-conference victory, this time over Villanova. The Wildcats entered the season ranked in the FCS top 25 but, after an upset loss to William and Mary, found themselves in a perilous position and looked to turn their season around heading into the Morgan State game. Villanova was 2-4 with a 28-21 loss to Colgate.
Meanwhile, Morgan State is rounding into form. They came off a dominant out-of-conference victory over Towson, 41-26, and look to get another statement victory over Villanova. Morgan State absolutely delivered, powered by Cameron Edge. Edge finished the game throwing for 444 passing yards and three touchdowns, one interception, on 31 of 40 attempts. He was also effective on the ground, netting two touchdowns on six carries for 14 yards.
Edge's favorite receiver was Keith Jenkins Jr., who caught 8 passes for 87 yards and 1 touchdown, but Justin Perry made the most of his opportunities, catching 5 for 152 yards and averaging 30.4 yards per catch. Joseph Towler caught 4 for 89 yards, and Malachi Bryant caught 2 for 24 yards and scored a touchdown. While Morgan State had a phenomenal game, Villanova wouldn't go down without a fight.

Isaiah Raglin ripped off a 22-yard touchdown run for Villanova to ultimately regain the lead, but Edge found Towler for a 64-yard touchdown to get the lead back. Shortly after Ragland's touchdown run, Ja'briel Mace pulled off a 52-yard touchdown run for Villanova to make it 35-31. But Morgan State still had more in the tank.

The Bears now nab another huge out-of-conference victory in the Damon Wilson era and now are set to host Robert Morris University, who put up a tough fight against Norfolk State University in Week 5.
