After being caught red-handed by hot mics and claiming Taylor Swift wasn't a New York Knicks fan while she was at Madison Square Garden for their Game 4 NBA Finals comeback win, former WNBA player Monica McNutt is still “mystified” by the now-viral moment.
Appearing on Ryan Clark, Channing Crowder, and Fred Taylor's podcast The Pivot, McNutt reflected on the moment, calling it the “epitome of a hot mic situation.” She didn't even care in the moment, as she was fired up from the game.
“We weren't even up yet. I'm still mystified and would love someone to explain how that got to the masses,” she said. “But we'll leave that there.”

Ultimately, if Swift or her fans were upset by what she said, “that's on you, not me,” McNutt claimed. She explained, “Again, people that have never had our jobs, you don't know how a hot mic works. And if you don't speak with any of the flavor that I speak with, you probably took that comment to heart, and it wasn't even that deep.”
When Swift was at Game 4 of the NBA Finals, McNutt was caught on the hot mic saying, “She's not a Knicks fan. Get out of here, girl.” She didn't know it, but her comments caught fire online. It went viral during the Knicks' incredible 29-point comeback in Game 4.
