The Dallas Cowboys are looking for ways to bounce back after a recent embarrassing home loss against the winless Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Cowboys recently held a players-only meeting in response to the loss, which sank them to 2-3 on the young 2026 NFL season.

One person who is not optimistic about Dallas' hope of turning things around is former Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin, who now works as an analyst for NBC Sports.

“I think you're dead,” Tomlin said of the meeting, per the New Heights Podcast. “If it did occur, I'd like to not hear about it. The fact that you hear about it is what makes it B.S.”

However, Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer had a different take on the situation.

“I love it,” Schottenheimer said, via ESPN. “I've said from the very beginning, the best teams I've ever been around are led by the locker room. And my information that I received from some of those guys that called that meeting, it was very productive. It was very open and honest.”

To say that the Cowboys have gotten off to a disappointing start to this year would be an understatement, as Dallas would viewed by many as legit Super Bowl contenders in the NFC, and have instead seen their defense inexplicably get even worse than the historically bad output it experienced a year ago, despite the several big tweaks made to that unit over the offseason.

Clearly, the Cowboys are pulling out all the stops to try to get back on track.

In any case, Dallas will next hit the field on Sunday evening for a tough road game against the Green Bay Packers.
