The Pittsburgh Steelers will aim for their fourth straight win when they take on the Cleveland Browns at Acrisure Stadium on Sunday.
The Steelers have looked formidable, with coach Mike McCarthy pressing the right buttons and Aaron Rodgers steering the offense.
Still, McCarthy knows the Steelers can go up a notch, particularly with their red-zone offense, which is ranked 27th in the league.
“I think, like everything, you look at the attempts. Obviously, you want to get down there. But yeah, the running pass, we could definitely score more touchdowns,” said McCarthy in the video posted by the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review's Chris Adamski.
“But we feel really good about this week's package. Obviously, they're (Browns) a big challenge throughout everything they do in situational defenses, so this will be a great time to be back on track.”
Pittsburgh will look to avenge its loss to Cleveland, 27-24, in Week 4. Moreover, the contest will determine who takes the solo lead in the AFC North, as the longtime rivals each have a 5-2 record.
As McCarthy mentioned, the Steelers will have their hands full in Week 8. The Browns are amid a resurgent campaign, with Deshaun Watson leading the charge. They have not had a 5-2 record since 2020.
The Steelers, playing in their first year under McCarthy, have been timid in their running game. Rodgers has repeatedly called for an improvement instead of always needing a late-game push or a lift from the defense.
Pittsburgh has lost only once at home to Cleveland since Acrisure Stadium opened in 2001. Pittsburgh leads the all-time series, 83-66-1.
