With the Maryland football program firing head coach Mike Locksley, the team has been searching for his replacement after he has served in the role since 2019. As the Maryland football team is still finding its next head coach, Locksley has already found his next gig, as it involves him taking his talents to television.

According to Matt Fortuna of the Sports Business Journal, Locksley will be on the Big Ten Network after the head coach was let go by the Terrapins, as he'll start as a studio analyst on the program “The B1G Show,” but will also be on other shows.

“Former Maryland football coach Mike Locksley is joining BTN, SBJ has learned, giving the conference network a credible voice for the final month of the regular season,” Fortuna wrote. “Locksley, who is repped by CAA’s Ed Marynowitz, will start as a studio analyst on Friday on ‘The B1G Show.' He’ll also appear on Saturday programming, which includes ‘B1G Countdown to Kickoff' leading into the Maryland-Purdue game.”

The former Maryland football head coach is “set to work weekends” with the network through the conference championship game on Dec. 5, and “could possibly appear on CFP [College Football Playoffs] coverage as well.”

Locksley went 39-54 in his time with the Terrapins and was fired in his eighth season with the program as head coach, as he expressed to ESPN that he is “done with the heavy laboring of building and taking a job that's going to wear me out.” Saying that he “can't do it anymore” when it comes to that, he's open to an NFL job or a coordinator role where he can contend for a title.

At any rate, it remains to be seen when Locksley returns to the field, as he'll be on the Big Ten Network.
