Not long after winning his first Oscar for his role in Sinners, actor-director Michael B. Jordan may just fully delve into the world of anime.

Speaking to Vogue, he talked about the impact anime had on him in his younger years. Jordan recalled sneaking into his church's basement to watch Dragon Ball Z.

He is still “obsessive” about anime, and he joked that he “might just quit it all and make anime the rest of my life.” Vogue notes that he might've only been “half joking.”

His upcoming movie, The Thomas Crown Affair, is in post-production. He stars in the movie, which he also directed, alongside Kenneth Branagh, Adira Arjona, and Lily Gladstone.

It is the second remake of The Thomas Crown Affair after the original 1968 movie, which starred Steve McQueen. The first remake came out in 1999 and featured Pierce Brosnan, Rene Russo, and Denis Leary.

Earlier in 2026, he starred in Netflix's animated movie Swapped. He voiced Ollie in the flick, which also starred Juno Temple, Tracy Morgan, and Cedric the Entertainer.

Jordan is still riding high after Sinners. Ryan Coogler's latest movie was a hit, grossing over $370 million worldwide at the box office.

It also garnered 16 Oscar nominations. Sinners won four awards, including Best Actor (Jordan) and Best Original Screenplay (Coogler).

Sinners was Jordan and Coogler's fifth collaboration. Their partnership dates back to 2013's Fruitvale Station. Jordan would subsequently star in Coogler's Creed, Black Panther, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, and Sinners.

Their collaborative relationship is akin to Martin Scorsese and Robert De Niro's. Expect them to continue collaborating in the future.

Jordan is also known for his roles in Fantastic Four, Just Mercy, Without Remorse, and A Journal for Jordan. He made his directorial debut with Creed III.
