Who would've expected Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford and his wife, Kelly, to be featured in the music video for Taylor Swift's “Patient Zero”?
The music video for the song premiered during the MTV VMAs, during which Swift was given the inaugural Artist Director Honors.

Matthew and Kelly Stafford can be spotted slow dancing in the background of a shot in the music video. They are both sporting wide smiles in the scene as Swift passes them.
The Staffords were two of the reported thousand attendees at Swift and Travis Kelce's wedding. Several NFL figures attended the ceremony at Madison Square Garden on Friday, July 3, 2026.

They are not the only NFL figures in the “Patient Zero” music video, though, as broadcasters Erin Andrews and Charrisa Thompson also make appearances.
Additionally, former hockey player Jarret Stoll makes a cameo. Dakota Johnson and Colin Farrell star in the music video alongside Swift.
“Patient Zero” was announced by Swift on Sep. 22. Initially, it looked like a standalone single. However, she later unveiled The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore, which featured four new songs written after The Life of a Showgirl's release.
The song was written by Swift, Max Martin, and Shellback. “Patient Zero” also received limited edition CD and 7-inch vinyl releases on her website.
Swift has been busy this summer. She released “I Knew It, I Knew You,” which was written for the Toy Story 5 soundtrack. It was written and produced with Jack Antonoff.
It's unknown what comes next for her. A new album would make sense, as The Life of a Showgirl was released in October 2025. It remains to be seen how she will follow up her blockbuster and record-setting Eras Tour.
