After a series of unfortunate events, the Washington Commanders got a much-needed boost after stunning the Seattle Seahawks, 33-31, at Northwest Stadium on Sunday.
The Commanders won their first game of the season and snapped the 12-game winning streak of the defending champions.
Washington should get another boost after adding a familiar face to the offensive unit, as reported by NFL Network's Ian Rapoport on Monday.
“Reunion: The Commanders are expected to sign FA RB (free agent running back) Austin Ekeler to their 53-man roster pending physical, sources tell me and Mike Garafolo,” wrote Rapoport on X.
“Ekeler, who is healed from an Achilles tear and worked out for the (Carolina) Panthers last week, lands back in a familiar place.”

The 31-year-old veteran spent the past two years with the Commanders before being left unsigned in the offseason.
Last season, he only appeared in two games, logging 14 carries for 43 yards. He had five receptions for 38 yards.
