The Washington Commanders pulled off one of the biggest upsets of the NFL season on Sunday, beating the Seattle Seahawks 33-31 even with backup quarterback Marcus Mariota behind center. However, despite the first win of the season for Washington, one of its leaders suffered a major injury.
Linebacker Leo Chenal went down in the second half with a scary looking injury that saw him get carted off the field when he took a hit to the crown of his helmet. Chenal has a fractured neck and will be out for the season after undergoing surgery, per NFL insider Jordan Schultz.
The good news for Chenal is that he has feeling and movement in all of his extremities and is expected to make a full recovery.
