Lane Kiffin and the LSU Tigers got a major update on starting quarterback Sam Leavitt ahead of their Week 3 clash against the Ole Miss Rebels.

Leavitt is going through the fourth year of his collegiate career, his first with LSU. Despite a rough start with his passing, he has been remarkable on the ground. His efforts in the run game paved the way for a 3-0 start in favor of the Tigers.

However, his status for the upcoming ranked clash against Ole Miss was in question. He was on the injury report, going from doubtful to questionable as time went on. It took until the final days before gameday that insider Pete Nakos reported that Leavitt was no longer on the report as he will start against the Rebels.

“LSU QB Sam Leavitt will start Saturday night at Ole Miss,” Nakos wrote.
