The Detroit Lions earned a big win over the Green Bay Packers on Sunday. It was a close game that could have gone either way. But the Detroit defense stood tall, having received a big boost with Brian Branch's return from injury.
Branch played his first game since December 2025 on Sunday. He had some rust, but overall, he did what the team needed him to do. In the fourth quarter, he even picked off a pass from Jordan Love. The Lions shared his reaction to the play after the game.
The Lions offense didn't capitalize on the interception and allowed Green Bay to tie the game. Detroit nearly handed the Packers the lead as well. They failed to convert a fourth down from their own 24-yard line late in the contest.
However, Detroit's defense stood tall again, forcing the Packers to kick another field goal. This time, Trey Smack missed the kick, hooking it to the right. This gave the Lions a chance to march down the field and win this game.
The Lions did just that. Detroit's offense did not give the ball back. They went down and kicked a field goal with no time remaining to clinch a crucial 20-17 win over their NFC North rivals. The Packers are now 4-3 and sit last in the division after this loss.
Detroit is now 4-2 on the season and remains undefeated at home. Next week, they will look to remain undefeated at Ford Field. The Lions play host to the undefeated Minnesota Vikings on November 1.
