The 49ers improved to 3-0 against the Cardinals on Sunday, but their list of injured players got a little longer.
Wide receiver Mike Evans was ruled out of the game with what was announced as a rib injury after being carted to the locker room. After the game, head coach Kyle Shanahan said that the team didn’t know if it was a rib or oblique injury and that Evans would have further tests done on Monday.
“We don’t know yet,” Shanahan said. “We couldn’t tell if it was a broken rib; we couldn’t tell if it was an oblique, so it’s something we’ll find out probably more tomorrow.”
Those tests will determine the timetable for Evans’s return to action. The 49ers also saw left tackle Trent Williams (stinger) and linebacker Dre Greenlaw (quad) depart during the 36-30 win.
