It has not always looked pretty, but New York Knicks superfan Ben Stiller believes Karl-Anthony Towns has earned a contract extension after starting the year with five consecutive double-doubles.

Stiller reacted to a parody song performed by Knicks fans after the team's 19-point comeback against the Chicago Bulls. He wrote, “DOUBLE DOUBLES EVERY GAME GET HIM PAID.”

It's a brief but clear message to the Knicks' front office. KAT has yet to sign a contract extension, but he looks better than ever five games into the season.

Towns is currently playing without a contract extension. He spent a lot of the offseason negotiating, but the Knicks decided to pause talks as the season approached.

Naturally, he was not happy, telling reporters, “It was news to me. Very disappointed to say the least. Let's state the obvious: It's business, but there is business on the court for us to handle.”

Maybe this inspired him to level up his game, as KAT has opened the season with five straight double-doubles. He is currently averaging 21.8 points, 13.8 rebounds, and 3.2 assists per game. If he keeps this pace up, he will finish with a career-high in rebounds per game.

He has shot incredibly well from the floor. Towns has made over 50% of his shots in all five of the Knicks' games to start the season. While he hasn't gotten a triple-double yet, he has had double-doubles in every game. His best game came in the Knicks' first win of the year, during which he logged 27 points and 20 rebounds.

The Knicks' next game is against the Philadelphia 76ers on Friday, Oct. 30. KAT and co. will have a chance at revenge for Opening Night. The Sixers spoiled the championship celebrations, beating New York by six points.
