Alperen Sengun's status is questionable with his low back injury, so there is still a chance he might play against the Mavs. That injury already caused Sengun to miss the Rockets' last game against the Milwaukee Bucks. But Houston hardly missed him as they blew out the Bucks 132-100 to improve to 5-0.
Tari Eason came in to start at center in Sengun's absence and had five points, nine rebounds, and three blocks in 31 minutes. Backup big man Clint Capela added 10 points, eight rebounds, three steals and two blocks off the bench.
Article Continues BelowSengun has been sensational for the Rockets to start the season. Amid all the drama involving him and Kevin Durant during the tail-end of last season, he seems to have put everything behind him. In his first four games, he's averaging 24.5 points, 9.0 rebounds, and 7.0 assists while shooting 58% from the field.
Prior to his low back problem popping up, Sengun had a spectacular game against the Atlanta Hawks. He finished with 29 points, 9 rebounds, 9 assists, and six steals to lead Houston to a 120-110 win.
The Rockets already faced the Mavs once this season, during the season opener. Sengun also starred in that game with a 23-point, 10-rebound double-double as the Rockets ran out 128-110 winners.
