The New York Knicks had an early scare against the Chicago Bulls on Wednesday after Landry Shamet hurt his ankle in the second quarter.

Shamet was pedaling back on defense after scoring an easy dunk when he appeared to twist his ankle. With the growing list of injured players across the league, the Knicks had a cause for concern.

The veteran guard struggled to stand upright. But he eventually managed to walk off the court and went straight to the locker room.

With the Knicks still groping for form, they cannot afford to lose a key member of their second unit. Shamet has been a spark plug off the bench with his two-way activity. Entering the game against the Bulls, he was averaging 8.0 points, 2.0 rebounds, and 2.0 assists in 24.0 minutes.

As of this writing, the Knicks are trailing the Bulls in the fourth quarter. Shamet has eight points, three assists, and two blocks off the bench.

More details to come.
