Over the offseason, New York Knicks star Karl-Anthony Towns lost weight, and his wife, Jordyn Woods, might have influenced that decision.
Speaking at the Knicks' Media Day, spoke about the positive impact losing weight has on his body ahead of the 82-game regular season. He first joked that he “thought my wife thought I looked good. I thought I was looking alright.”

KAT then explained, “In the offseason, I always lose a lot of the weight. I put on the weight for the season. It's just good for my body, good for my knees, keeps me young, and I always use the offseason as a time to give my body a chance to recover [and] rest. Just like every other offseason, I've done that.”
Currently, Towns is listed on the team's roster as 7'0″ and 248 pounds. The only heavier player is backup center Andre Drummond (279 lbs).
Article Continues BelowTowns is entering his third season with the Knicks. He was traded to New York by the Minnesota Timberwolves right before the 2024-25 season.
He had spent the first nine years of his career with the Timberwolves. The team drafted him first overall in the 2015 NBA Draft out of Kentucky.
During his time with the Timberwolves, he made four All-Star teams. He was also named Rookie of the Year in 2016 and won the Three-Point Contest in 2022.
Since joining the Knicks, he has made it to two more All-Star teams and won a championship. The Knicks won their first championship in 53 years in 2026, beating the San Antonio Spurs in five games in the NBA Finals.
Unfortunately, KAT was consistently in foul trouble in the NBA Finals. He had four or more fouls in each contest, and he fouled out of the series-clinching Game 5. Luckily, Jalen Brunson had him covered, scoring 45 points in the win. Brunson was named NBA Finals MVP for his efforts.
