The New York Giants' 2026 season had a major wrench thrown into it in Week 2 when starting quarterback Jaxson Dart went down with a devastating knee injury that will end his second season.

Jameis Winston filled in for Dart for a game and change, and he has not been playing particularly inspiring football so far. That has led the Giants to make a blockbuster trade, acquiring former first-round pick J.J. McCarthy in a deal with the Minnesota Vikings, per Tom Pelissero of The Ringer and Netflix. The Vikings are getting a 2027 fifth-round pick in return.
