Even a couple of days after hosting Saturday Night Live (SNL) for the first time, New York Knicks star Jalen Brunson hasn't processed it.
Speaking to reporters at the Knicks' 2026 Media Day, Brunson was asked about his favorite sketch from the show. He asked for a week before he could answer.

“Ask me in like a week, because I still haven't really watched it. I want to watch it,” he said, before explaining, “I've seen clips. The only thing I really watched was the monologue.”

Brunson's teammate, Hart, gave him a brutal review of his SNL episode. He said, “I thought he was fine. He doesn't have a future in acting.”
Article Continues BelowOn Saturday, Sep. 26, Brunson hosted SNL for the first time. He kicked off the 52nd season of the iconic sketch show on NBC. The show played to his strengths, with several sketches utilizing his basketball skills, including a parody of High School Musical.
During his opening monologue, the rest of the Knicks' starting five, Karl-Anthony Towns, OG Anunoby, Mikal Bridges, and Josh Hart, asked questions. They then joined him on stage.
This was one of the last big events of Brunson's offseason. It has been an eventful summer. He led the Knicks to the franchise's first championship in 53 years. He was named NBA Finals MVP after averaging 32.6 points per game.
There were lots of celebrations, including a parade through New York City. He then took on a job as the host of the Season 52 premiere of SNL.
Now, he can look ahead and turn the page before the 2026-27 NBA season. The Knicks will open their regular season against the Philadelphia 76ers on Oct. 20.
While the Knicks swept the 76ers during the postseason in the Eastern Conference Semifinals, the Sixers will look a lot different this year. The team added LeBron James and Jaylen Brown during the offseason, pairing them with Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey.
