The No. 15 Kentucky Wildcats have another big game in Week 7 as the program is set to take on the Oklahoma Sooners. However, the team may be without star running back CJ Baxter in the latest injury update.

Reports indicate that the redshirt junior is deemed a game-time decision for Saturday's contest, according to Pete Nakos of On3 Sports. There is a silver lining, though, as Kentucky is remaining optimistic that Baxter will be available.

“Kentucky RB CJ Baxter will be a game-time decision on Saturday at Oklahoma, but sources tell On3 Sports,” Nakos reported. “There is optimism he will play. He's coming off a 123-yard, two-touchdown performance in the win over LSU.”

It is not currently known what issue Baxter is dealing with, as he is said to have an undisclosed injury right now. As of Friday, he is officially questionable, and if he is unable to play, then the Wildcats will likely turn to Jason Patterson in the backfield. Jovantae Barnes and Hmir Smith could also see some playing time.

Baxter has appeared in all six games for Kentucky so far this season. He's been a consistent option in the run game, as he's recorded 484 yards and eight touchdowns through 87 rush attempts. His 80.7 rushing yards per game average is the highest of his career by a wide margin.

Kentucky and Oklahoma won't kick off on Saturday until 7:30 p.m. EST. The late kickoff could give CJ Baxter the time he needs to recover enough to play. But ultimately, that decision will be up to head coach Will Stein.
