The Kentucky Wildcats pulled off a huge 35-34 upset win over the LSU Tigers on Saturday. It came to an end after quarterback Kenny Minchey ran it right up the middle on a QB draw play to clinch the win on a game-winning two-point conversion. But how did that bold call come to fruition? It turns out it was Minchey's decision from the get-go.

Kentucky head coach Will Stein revealed that the initial call for the two-point conversion was not a designed QB draw, according to Big Blue Rando. While it was an incredibly bold decision, Stein is happy his transfer redshirt junior signal-caller made the call.

“We didn't call a QB draw,” Stein admitted during the postgame press conference. “Kenny called his own number, and thank God he did.”

Minchey had himself a game against LSU. Although he did not throw a single touchdown pass, he still totaled 246 passing yards with no interceptions while completing 63.8% of his pass attempts. He also ran in a touchdown on top of his two-point rushing score to seal the victory for Kentucky.

The Wildcats landed the 21-year-old quarterback in the transfer portal in the offseason. He joined Stein's program after playing for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish the previous three seasons. However, Minchey was a backup during his time in Marcus Freeman's offense, appearing in 10 total games over three years.

Kentucky will move on to Week 7 with a 5-1 record. The program is scheduled to take on the Oklahoma Sooners on the road next.
