Kendrick Perkins expressed confidence in the Washington Wizards' ceiling as a playoff contender going into the 2026-27 NBA season.

Washington finds itself in an interesting and exciting situation. They have a future after selecting AJ Dybantsa first overall in the 2026 draft, and they also have star talent with Trae Young and Anthony Davis headlining the show.

Perkins talked about his expectations for Washington during his appearance on ESPN's NBA Today. He believes they will make the playoffs, on top of being an explosive offense with the stars they boast on the team.

“The Wizards are making the playoffs…they're going to be a top 6 seed in the Eastern Conference. They're going to be one of the best offensive teams in the entire league. (Trae & AD are) bringing chocolate back to Chocolate City. This team is for real,” Perkins said.
